Benjamin Ellis

Benjamin Ellis is the founder and sole creator of Walabookies — a children's book brand that began as bedtime stories for his nieces and nephews. "Walabookies" is what he calls the kids in his life, and the stories he made up while playing with them became something he wanted to share with every family.

Born and based in New York City, Benjamin has been telling these stories since 2010. What started as improvised bedtime adventures grew into a self-published picture book series with a growing universe of characters, merchandise, and a dedicated reader community. He handles every part of Walabookies — from concept to cover design to customer service — without a publisher or formal creative team.

Walabookies: First Adventure is the original title in the series, targeting ages 3–8 with full-color hardcover picture books centered on diverse characters, family themes, and imaginative adventures. The brand is independently operated, which means fast iteration, direct reader relationships, and a story that genuinely reflects the kids Benjamin knows and loves.
